Something that is not always talked about openly is an unexpected pregnancy and the hard decision that this can present. In this blog, I wanted to raise awareness of the issues raised for those who face the difficulties surrounding an unexpected pregnancy. It can often be a very anxious, complex and fearful time for those facing this situation, and there can be many voices, opinions, judgements, fears, pressures and uncertainties. Even when offered with good intentions, advice from friends, partners and family members can sometimes add distress to an already complex and stressful situation for the person involved.
A highly emotive time, there may also be political or moral dilemmas which can add to the pressures and stress of deciding the next steps for your pregnancy; for many, these factors can be overwhelming and leave you feeling alone.
Here at Pregnancy Crisis Care, we understand and treat all clients with the utmost care and respect, whatever they face and whatever their situation. All pregnancy-related crises or losses carry their own unique and individual emotions. We aim to be right there with you when you need it most, whatever you are facing.
With unexpected pregnancy clients, we have an awareness of the shock, panic, fear and distress it causes for some. We provide confidential, impartial counselling for those needing a safe place to talk about their situation, and time to process their feelings around the options in a non-judgmental space. Please be assured there is no pressure or judgment made – we listen and genuinely care. We respect each person, allowing people to make their own decisions.
We understand this is a particularly sensitive and complex area, and our heart is to support the woman in crisis so she can be empowered to make the best choice for her. It’s a huge step whichever path is taken, and we aim to provide that space and support at a very sensitive time.
If desired, we also offer longer-term counselling – either post-termination or for pregnancy support too, so that no one has to process their journey alone.
So if this is you, please do get in touch. We’re just a phone call or email away –
