Here at Pregnancy Crisis Care, we know that attending counselling can be a vulnerable thing to do, especially when you’re feeling so low and we’re very aware of how scary it can be, reaching out and taking this brave first step to seek help.
However the first step no matter how small will help make a big difference, here at Pregnancy Crisis Care, we provide a warm and sensitive welcome in-person or online. We’re pleased to offer, face-to-face, telephone and online video counselling sessions, for you to choose a way to talk that works to start your counselling journey.
We introduced our online counselling service during lockdown, and it has helped us increase our ability to meet and help more people who can’t attend the centre in person. We often get asked, will online counselling work? Is it too impersonal? Will it still be confidential online?
These are all common questions, firstly, we like to reassure you that our online sessions are completely confidential. Whether online or in person these sessions are a safe place for you to share. Online clients report that the empathic connection and therapeutic counselling relationship can still be established and that they felt able to share and explore their grief during online sessions, for hope and healing to begin.
For some, online sessions are easier to fit into their schedule, or perhaps they feel more open to sharing from the comfort of home and continue to do so for future sessions. Other clients find that the online sessions lead to face-to-face sessions and in some cases then support groups.
Each person’s journey is unique and will vary, the first step may seem hard, but if you need support around any pregnancy-related crises or loss, we want to encourage you to reach out to our team of counsellors, so we can help you online or in person.
