Hi I’m Jane. My role is Centre Manager, Counsellor and Supervisor. I helped plan and set the charity up back in 2005, with the Centre finally opening in 2008. My background is in Youth Support and Sexual Health work, having roles within The Zone in the past. It’s my privilege to support our amazing team of Counsellors and Volunteers. My heart is to support those hurting with such devastating feelings after a crisis or loss. It’s always an honour to walk alongside people as they process their grief. I have amazing support from my family – my husband and son. My hobbies include walking our 3 mad dogs, watching films, lacemaking, and seeing friends and family.

I am Helen, an integrative Counsellor working part time for Pregnancy Crisis Care where I am privileged to be able to provide counselling support to clients who may be experiencing great distress. Prior to qualifying as a Counsellor, my career involved working in people-facing roles within Social Care and Education, and I readily admit to being fascinated by peoples’ behaviours and emotions. Times spent in busy places, even waiting rooms or railway stations, provide a rich opportunity for studying those around me! I think my interests in crime films and fiction support this curiosity about people and their behaviour. However, I am also a seeker of space and solitude (much as I love being with people, and with my family), and I enjoy regularly walking and/or sitting beside the coast or on the moor with my dog appreciating the wonder and vastness of our incredible world.

Hi, my name is Sarah and work alongside Jane at the Centre. I have been involved with the charity for the last 14 years, working in the team as one of the qualified Counsellors, and also supporting with some of the administration. I also love being involved and organising some of our fundraising events that we have put on over the past few years. It is a privilege to be part of such a wonderful Charity and to be able to give that safe space to enable individuals facing any pregnancy related crisis to start to process some of their feelings. Outside of work, I love spending time with friends and family, walks in the country with my dog Jasper, being by the sea, and visiting and experiencing new places. When I have time I enjoy reading and baking cakes – but not too often as I have a sweet tooth.

Hi, I’m Debbie Allan. I’ve worked with Pregnancy Crisis Care as a Counsellor since 2018. While every client’s experience is unique, it is hugely rewarding to offer a space and support for people to explore, process, and navigate their feelings.

Hi, I’m Holly and I’m a student counsellor in my final year. I enjoy writing and watching the birds on my bird feeder and have a soft spot for cats. It’s a privilege to be able to walk on sometimes difficult journeys with clients and I feel blessed to work for this amazing charity.

Hi, I’m Kirsty. I’m trainee counsellor on placement here at Pregnancy Crisis Care. I’m extremely passionate about the role that counselling can have, and it is a privilege to be alongside people in that journey. I work mostly from a person-centred approach; building a safe and trusting relationship, to work alongside you in a supportive way. Outside of work I enjoy being close to the sea and in nature.

My name is Julie. I have been involved with this charity since it began in 2008. I have a heart to support people whose lives have been touched by baby loss in all its forms. I am a volunteer trained counsellor and trustee. I love being out in nature and enjoying the lovely surrounding countryside as well as arts and crafts.

I am a trainee therapist with a deep passion for supporting individuals through challenging times. As a volunteer at Pregnancy Crisis Care, I provide compassionate care to those navigating pregnancy-related crises, offering a safe and non-judgmental space to be heard and supported. My journey into this field is deeply personal – shaped by my own experiences and a desire to ensure that no one has to face difficult moments alone. I understand how overwhelming uncertainty can be, and I am committed to helping others build resilience, process their feelings, and challenge unhelpful beliefs that may be holding them back, especially during times of struggle. With warmth and understanding, I strive to create a supportive environment where people feel valued, understood, and equipped to embrace their next steps, what ever they may be.

Hi, I’m Elizabeth and I am a fully qualified Therapeutic Counsellor (BACP) with 9 years experience in many different aspects of common life and mental health problems. I have been with Pregnancy Crisis Care since my initial training days in 2015. I left for a short period of time to develop my experience in different mental health settings and to build on my skills, and returned in 2021 where I continue to offer support to clients at the centre. Originally coming from a career as Holistic Therapist and lecturer both in the UK and overseas for 20 years, life then took a turn which led to me starting some personal counselling of my own. I found that experience so positive that I decided to change career and retrain as a Counselling Therapist in 2012. I am absolutely passionate about the work I do, and supporting others from so many diverse walks of life. It’s fulfilling work. I have always found the service offered at Pregnancy Crisis Care such an invaluable and well needed service, and it serves a huge demographic across the South West. In my downtime I enjoy anything related to upholding mental and physical health and well-being, including attending well-being retreats, exercise, and travel.
